Got 100 of these to try out.
Have Varget and IMR 8208. Wondering if anyone has had any luck with them? Seems to be very little data or info on these? I'm sure the #10 manual has it but wanting to hear if any experience positive or negative? |

Went as high as 24gr with no pressure signs on CC 400 primers. Accuracy potential is there, however my shooting on the day I chose to shoot them was not. 3 shots touching with a couple fliers caused by the monkey on the trigger.

Right now I've been shooting Berger tactical 77gr but they are $34 per 100 and do not come bulk packaged, so I've been looking for something that I could get to group just as tight that is cheaper. Unfortunately the burgers for me group tighter than any of the other 77gr that I have tried in the past. |

I think they'll be fine. I'll be reshooting them in a couple weeks, as I had an awful bag setup the first time around.
Bipod + rear bag didn't work out as the bipod was too high and the chair was really low. So I used a small upside down caldwell rear bag for the front rest and a rear bag sandwiched between the side of the table and my body .. lol 18" 223 wylde ar put together a few weeks ago.

Bought three boxes to try.
These bullets work in my 1:9 223 cal rem 700 tactical where normal 75-77 match bullets won't ( I've tried ). Have only used Varget so far. 23.5 shot really well at 200 yds 6 shots 1 in group going to try them at 600 this week and see if they loose it and keyhole at longer range. 23.5 is max in Hornady book but primers looked good even in a GI case ,could like most match loads vs. Book push it a bit more. CFE would easily get them faster IMOP. Rem 700, 20" bbl , 90 F 23.5 Varget, LC 95 case, Tula SR, 2.250 OAL 2694 AVG 14 SD. 23.2 Varget 2666 AVG, 19.3 SD 23.0 Varget 2650 AVG, 16 SD 23.5 V 600 yds no tipping or key holing but was getting knocked around by the wind pretty good. Would like to see what 2800-2900 fps will do. |

Some good results above. I need to get my situation for shooting rest and bag straightened out. I can see the potential, and my rifle is capable, I keep screwing the pooch.
I dont know if Varget is the best choice to be honest. Its a little slow burning for an AR, creating alot of port pressure even in a rifle length gas system. Ive consistently had the best luck with accuracy, velocity, and case fill % with 8208 in 223. And I dont have to meter it with my CM1500 every time

Seems to me that it is usually with the lighter bullets I have better luck with Varget I have had some luck with Varget with 53gr Vmax, but honestly I prefer CFE 223 for those as I can get better case fill which drives up velocity, with the same accuracy, with less PIMA when trying to load any volume of rounds. |

I use the data from Hodgdon for 8208. These bullets work pretty well with 68 or 69 gr data. Its not incredibly lawyered down, or crazy hot like Lyman. Good middle of the road info that is safe for the most part. |
