| Is 27 grains a doable load? I'm looking at the manuals I have but the closest one is for a 60 grainer. |

Because RE-15 is usually very hard to get because of it's popularity in competitive shooting circles I would consider using generic ball powder or H322, AA-2015 or RE-10X for 55 grain FMJ's. The only 55 grain bullet that has consistently good results on target is the one manufactured Hornady. Virtually every other brand is inferior.
It seems a waste to me to use one of the best heavy bullet propellants on 55 grain FMJ's. I would save the RE-15 for 68 to 77 grain match ammo. |

But I've got a decent deal going for 6lbs for $135 I can just use it as blasting powder. |

Six 1 pounders? Or are you not getting as good as a deal as you think, because RL15 comes in a 5 lbs jug. Im guessing 6x1 lb bottles, or its way to much money. It's not a smokin' deal but its better than even going with a 5lber. 1lb is 27 at midway and 5lb is 25 a lb. Plus I wold have to add in shipping. blc2, 748 etc. are about the same. |
