I just tried to access the Reloading Equipment tacked threads. The Bare Bones equipment isn't loading the thread (or at least it's a blank screen where the info should be), and the recommended Shopping List has what looks like a lot of broken picture links. Is anyone else having this issue? I've only noticed it now, with the new webpage format. Don't know if it's my browser or something in the new format.
Thanks! |

I just checked those threads, yes we lost a lot of content with the site changes. |

I noticed the new layout has lost or consolidated many pages in some long threads such as,
Diy annealer thread And What did you do in the world of reloading, which was over 400 pages and is now a little over 200 pages long. Maybe more post per page, I sure hope that's the deal. |

I read in the "Welcome to the new ARFCOM", that a lot of people were complaining about all of the waste space on the page. Maybe they have started to try to compact things a bit.
I also notice up in the Tools tab, when you go to my subscriptions or my topics, it now takes you directly to your threads, and not ask for a sub forum first. There were a lot of people complaining about that, and now I see it's been fixed. Like they said in that thread, give it some time and give them your input, they're still making changes. I wish they would put submit, preview, spell check, cancel buttons up where the select file, upload buttons are at. To me that would make using it a lot easier. |

Next time you open that thread with the "green arrow" it will go to where you left off in the thread. |

I was afraid to look.
When the Reloading forum was moved here from the general section, we lost scads of photos from the old media server that had a folder explicitly for servicing the forum, and the articles in the Resources became ultra corrupted to a point that I had to spend hours dicking around with the formatting which was mostly not predictable. If we're going to rebuild all that, then a different strategy is needed to at least minimize the impact when the site owner makes unilateral changes without asking about the impact. Probably converting the information into documents that can be stored elsewhere or converted into jpg format so the entire article can be inserted with a single link. The trouble with that last part is that we no longer have a shared server for images, so they have to be stored in our personal accounts. I have never learned how to set up documents off site, but I know Zhukov and RocketmanOU do, and most likely others, too. I may still have some of the old articles on a disk somewhere in two shoe boxes full. |
