Got a question about which primers are the softest.I'm using CCI large pistol primers to load for my Ruger Alaskan and have changed the hammer spring to a lighter one and it's not powerful enough to set the primers off.
Are there any there are softer than the ones I have?
I really don't want to change back to the factory springs.
Oh and the lighter spring will ignite factory ammo with no problems.

I think Remington 2½'s or Federal 150's might be your best bet

I've always read, on the internet, that Federal primers are the easiest to set off.

Most of the time, when someone has been messing with their hammer springs to get a lighter trigger pull, other folks recommend Federal primers.

What factory ammo works? Federal? Remington? That is the brand I would go with. ;)

In my experience: in order of softness: Federal, S&B, Rem, Win/CCI tied.  No experience with Wolf.

Federal uses that super bulky packaging. It's always seemed to me that they realize their primers light the easiest.

Well looks like Federal will be the one I try first.
Thanks guys.

I have a 38 Special that will only light Federal and Winchester. It won't light CCI or Remingtons. Granted that's in a small pistol primer, but Federal is what you are looking for. Unfortunately they're hard to find.
