| Hey there guys I dont post a lot but get a lot of information here, I have recently picked up a Glock 30 Gen 3 new in a box, never been a Glock guy but im gonna give this one a fighting chance. Ive been reloading for 20 years almost and have made plenty of ammo. I recently had some piss poor accuracy out of my reloads in the Glock 30. Im loading Xtreme Bullets PLATED .451 200 Gr RN, with 4.5 Gr Bullseye powder COAL 1.23, Light Crimp using Lee Factory Crimp Die. It has been my go to for years in my 1911s and my USP. Any Hints or Ideas on reloading specifically for the glock chamber ? I know its my reloads causing the issue I have a buddy of mine who has a Glock 30 and put my reloads through it and it printed all over the place at 7 yards and he can normally shoot one ragged hole with the gun. Thanks guys for any advice ! |

Quoted: If they shoot good in your 1911, maybe its the new gun blues and that different trigger pull? ETA: a quick search turned up a bunch of people saying they are using 5.0 grains with 230 grain FMJ's. I use 5.0gr of Bullseye with both 230s and 200s. But that's in a 1911 with coated bullets. OP I'd work up a load like you would with a rifle and see if you can find an accurate one. Plated bullets can be finicky. Or switch to coated lead (I like Bayou Bullets for coated). The guys shooting Glocks say the coated bullets work fine. |

Just one guys experience and others may have different experience.
Glocks prefer hard bullets to engage the rifling to produce optimum accuracy. While plated bullets may give acceptable accuracy for action shooting, they leave a lot on the table. You can take the same load and change only from a plated bullet to a fmj and see a difference on the target immediately with no further load development. Glock 30's will make you really work to find a 200 swc load that will work. The feed geometry is very different than the 21 that eats everything. Stick with either a 230 fmj or the Hornady 200 JHP life will be much easier. Coated bullets such as Bayou or SNS will also give great results. I really like the bayou 225 TC loaded to 1.20 using WST powder. For the small price difference you can shoot real FMJ bullets from Precision Delta or save money and shoot coated bullets. Plated bullets are finicky to load. I dnot ever recall seeing a bullseye shooter in any top match using plated bullets. Good loading and shooting |

Guys I really appreciate the tips! I Really wanna give it a fighting chance.
Im going to work up loads a little better and try using 230 Coated bullets and see how they perform. Anyone had luck from Eggleston Munitions or Blue Bullets ? I know glock chambers are a little looser than my Springfield Operator but didnt think plated loads would suffer that much. |

I liked blue bullets, but their coating is a bit messier. They don't use Hi-Tek like everyone else and it'll rub off on your fingers. I got sick of blue fingers so I switched to Bayou. ![]() I haven't heard anything bad about any of the companies selling coated bullets yet. |

I haven't heard anything bad about any of the companies selling coated bullets yet. I loaded a bunch of egglestons bullets. The weights were not very consistent. But they all shot well. I ordered the 200g RN in .452. I don't remember by load off the top of my head, but I posted it before in the PC bullets thread. They were definitely cheap. |

Much better, thanks. No Glock's here, so no advice. |
