Grabbed a # today to try out. I know this is a pretty fast burning powder and might like lighter bullets better but I want to try them with 55gr SP's
The little data I could find shows a 20.0-23.0gr range. Looking for any success stories. On a side note, also got a # of RE 10X, lots of published data for this. Hoping for some great accuracy for varmint rds, we'll see how it compares to my favorite but getting hard to find locally XBR 8208. |

Well RE7 was a bust, low range charges wouldn't cycle and max charges missed a few too. Oh well now I know.
Some real hope for RE10x though, best 5 shot group was 3/4" @ 100yds using Hornady SP's. Worked up a single charge weight on V-max, just too see where they landed, it did pretty good and I'll develop that load further. One concerning event was I took 20rds of 55gr v-max to warm up the barrel, which when I developed the load was a sub moa load. Today they really opened up, moa or more. Maybe it was just me and the 20* weather and not taking the time I should have to really focus on the target. Try them again once the weather warms up. |
