First thing to check is 'has it been done before' and the answer is usually 'yes'.

Resources...

Wildcat Cartridges Volumes 1 and 2 by Wolfe Publishing, available @ Amazon, kinda pricy though.

Wildcat Cartridges by Fred Zeglin, available as a Kindle download for cheap...if you do Kindle.

Or you could offer some specifics and let us old farts take a WAG at it.

Once you have the drawing for the cartridge, and have determined the tolerances you want to use for it, you'll need to have a set of reamers made.

After you have reamers, you can make your reloading dies as well as cut the chamber in whatever barrel you wish to use. You'll also need to make a minimum headspace die for the cartridge so you can more easily finish ream the chamber once the barrel is on whatever action you're using.

The folks that make the QuickLoad software also make a product called Quick Design.

If you're into wildcats, these 2 programs are your greatest friends.

Quick Design will generate a drawing that you can send to die and barrel makers.
