Anyone loading a 200 grain for the 40sw? Wondering if it would make make a good subsonic round. |

I'm loading Hornady's 200 grain full metal jacket flat point bullet at 1.135" OAL, over 5.6 grains of Power Pistol.
This load produces 850 fps from my Sig 229 and 860 fps from my Glock 23. It's a maximum load according to Hornady's manual, work up to it. Because of the heavy bullet and smaller powder charge I don't get any of the flash and muzzle blast normally associated with the use of Power Pistol in spite of being a full power load. |
