I am looking at getting a rcbs bench mounted primer pocket swager, are they worth the money over a press mounted? I already have a press mounted and have not really used it a whole lot but have a ton of Mil brass the few times I have used it it was slow and kind of a pain in the ass.  If it doesn't get better I will just have to suck it up. Thanks

It don't get better. Crimped primer pockets are a drag. I didn't want to mount any more things to my bench so I went cheap and effective. Hornady reamer and it works just fine and takes up as much space as a broken pencil.

I actually have plenty of room on my bench but if it isn't going to make the job at least a little faster then I can't see spending the hundred bucks, anyone else have any experience

IMO, the bench mount swaggers are better than the die in press type.

I've had both the RCBS and the Dillon bench mount.

I prefer the RCBS, but both do the same thing.  To me the RCBS is a bit better ergonomically, but again it's just my opinion.

I used the reamers for years and my fingers get cramped after a couple hundred rounds.

I know it's expensive, but a guy ought to try all methods and decide for himself what works better for him.

You can always sell quality reloading tools.

After the last time I had to swage with the RCBS die I finally broke down and bought the Dillon Super Swage.  It was SO much easier to use . . . I can't believe I wasted so much time before buying it.  I have limited space on my bench so I just screwed it into a piece of 2 x 4 and just clamp it down to a little table in the garage when I need to use it.

I have the Dillon Super Swager and have used it a lot. I now use the Hornady reamer in a drill press and I don't see me using the Dillon much at all going forward.

I've got the kit to swage on my 650 during the prep cycle. I haven't installed it yet though. Ideally I will deprime min station 1, ball expander and swage in station 2, 3 is empty, 4 is resize and trim, 5 is empty. Brass comes out deprimed, swaged, resized and trimmed in one pass.

I have the RCBS and it has worked excellent for me. If you need to it's really simple to re-adjust to different headstamps. So far I have not had to do this with all the LC and PPU that I have used.

Thanks for the info everyone I have a cabels state gift card so I will probably try the bench mounted at the very least I will be able to set it up and not have to change my dies on my press.
