Reuse marred Bullets? > Reloading

In setting up y die for seating, I ended up with 4 cartridges where the bullets were in too far. Not having a bullet puller yet I just used some pliers. That left these marks on the bullets.

As the marks are not on a part of the bullet that contacts the rifling can I reuse them - just for plinking, or should I just toss them? I though of smoothing the marring with a file or something.

I wouldn't use them, that's just me though. It's only four bullets.

Toss 'em in the scrap pile.

the only one I'd question is the second from the left. take a fingernail file and remove the burrs and load them. they probably won't be the most accurate.

they'll feed and shoot just fine.
those little marks wont do anything.

shoot em, I use stuff like that for offhand blasting at 50 yards or so.

I bought 1k machine pulled bullets that looked worse than that for $30.

Every one shot fine from 25-100 yards

Load them as you would your others (OAL , measure powder and the usual case prep steps.)

You tell us if you can see a difference at 100 yards.

I wouldn't use them for a 500yd match but suspect they will be fine

Load 'em up, they will be fine.

Keep them separate and compare how they shoot next to the un-marred ones.... fire the marred ones in a group, note the position of the four ... fire next group over it.

Post the results, you will find that they a-ok.

Those are fine to shoot, use them a foulers.

Back in the day all I bought (SS-109's) were pulled bullets "with pull marks".

Those kinda look like teeth marks to me

I've also pulled bullets with pliers before I had a kinetic puller. Never had a problem reloading and shooting them.

As dryflash said, load them up as your fouling shots.

Depending on the weight consistency/inconsistency of the bullets, they may not suffer any noticeable degradation in accuracy at shorter distances.
