been a while since I've reloaded any 9mm, but I definitely don't recall this being an issue: When bullet is seated, and crimped, the case bulges around the bullet, almost as if the bullet is too wide for the case. Doesn't show up very well on picture, but you can feel it. Case widens out at the base of the bullet.

Projo: Berry's 0.356/9mm 115gr RN (BRY36002)

Dies: Lee sizer, expander, seater, crimper

Powder: Bullseye 4.2gr

OAL: 1.135"

Case: 9x19 S&B/mixed

Not all brass behaves the same, if it drops freely in and out of your barrel, it should work.
I've never read on a box of loaded ammo where it stated it was good for "X" amount of reloads, it's just a happy coincidence.
Maybe your dies need a tweak here or there.

Google "the coke bottle effect"

As stated, as long as the completed round checks in a chamber or gage, it should be fine.

Drops into dillon case gauge just fine, and chambers. Chalk it up to cosmetic?

That bulging at the base of the bullet is a good thing. Means your sizing die is sizing down enough to hold the bullets tightly. Only thing I don't like to see on my loads is a bulge mostly on one side of the case which means you haven't seated the bullet straight into the case. The 9MM is a tapered wall case and your carbide sizing die sized them straight. Some brass being slightly thicker walled will show more bulge than thinner brass.

Iv'e only had this happen to me on one occasion before and it turned out I was over expanding the cases and when I seated the bullets it left that wrinkled look on the case. They chambered ok. I backed off a little on the expander die and it seemed to correct the problem.

What you are experiencing is not an uncommon occurance. You current brass might be a little thicker than what was used in the past. As long as they feed they are good to go.
