You should calculate your VMD for each lot of powder. Lee's numbers are little more than a guide and usually will give a lighter charge than listed.

You know the cc of the cavity, you weigh the charge dropped and you calculate VMD (cc/gn) or bulk density (gn/cc). What I get is dependent on my lot of powder and how I settle the powder in the measure.

Does this sound correct:

Using 0.46 cavity, I consistently get 6.1 grs of CFE Pistol powder.

So, 0.46 / 6.1 = 0.07541 VMD.

Using that VMD, a 0.49 cavity should yield 6.5 grs CFE Pistol powder.

Correct?
