Im having problems with my 2nd 23 shooting my reloads.      My XDM in 40 and beretta 96 both eat them flawlessly but both glock 23s ive owned keep having feeding problems.       OAL has been 1.125     Im getting a 2% FTF rate.    If I cant figure this out, bye bye glock.     Anything I should be looking for?

Currently 160gr Flat nose FMJ but also with JHPs and coated LSWCs.     Actually the LSWC had about a .5% FTF rate.     much better but still not good enough

What exactly is the problem that your Glock is having?

I was having trouble with my Glocks (34/19) not feeding my reloads. They were getting locked-up and keeping the breech from closing all the way. It was a pain in the butt to unlock them at the range. I found there was a slight bulge in the side of the case from the Lee Taper Die. The solution is to get a Lee Carbide Factory Crimp Die that keeps the side of the case from bulging.

I don't have any useful ideas then, not something I have ever run into.  I would have assumed more trouble with the SWC, sounds like you are having some issues across the board.

What powder and what charge weights?  What does your crimp measure.

Who makes a .400 160gr Bullet?

Two pistols with three different bullet profiles both having the same issues.   I'm thinking Limp Wristing!

Buddy of mine had a Glock that choked on flat nose reloads... kept jamming up on the feed ramp.  Switched to round nose and no problems.  Thinking back it might have been an overall length problem that he never really took the time to mess with or fine tune, but either way, it swallowed round nose bullets no problem.

Have you tried similar factory rounds?

That'll tell you if it's a Glock issue or a reload issue...

Is it the factory barrel or aftermarket?

Mine would eat anything until I rusted the crown away on the factory one and replaced it with a stainless Wolf bbl. The Wolf is finicky, I had to do some millwork to the ramp but the chamber is still tight some of my old loads chamber tight but drop right in the factory barrel.

I feel your pain.......what I believe you are experiencing is the Glock Bulge.  Google it.  It comes from the "unsupported chamber" of the OEM  .40 S&W Glock barrel.

Fired reloaded cases from your Glock barrel will "bulge" at the bottom of the cartridge will not size with the regular .40 S&W dies.  The fix.....for me, it is the

Redding G-RX push thru die.  Cost...around $75.

My reloads without using the Redding G-RX die....note the light striker strikes.  I used tula primers.  Very hard cups. Wouldn't go off.  Note the off center strikes.

My reloads using the Redding G-RX die.  Note how hard the strikes are now.  Same primers.  All went boom!  Strikes are now center and uniform.

This is what I believe you will need.

Looks like this

I've only run 180 gr JFP and JHP through my 23 (gen 3) and haven't had any function issues (using both OEM and Lone Wolf barrels).  I am loading these a little shorter (at 1.22") than the OP.  FWIW I did have issues with a G30 and finally discovered it didn't digest light/start loads very well.  When bumped up to midrange powder charges, the problems went away.

The only issue I had with the wife's G23 was with cast bullet reloads in a Storm Lake barrel.  Sent the barrel back to have it opened up a little and the issue went away.  I have reloaded several different jacketed bullets and have not had an issue with any of them.  For dies, I use RCBS 40/10MM carbide dies.  As far as powders go, depending on the bullet I use Blue Dot and HS6, both of which have worked fine.
Hope that you figure out what the 'issue' might be and keep the Glock.

Yup.  Really.  Not a mystery at all.  Other brands and bullet weights avail as well.

I've shot 1000s of the Berry's 180gr flat points through my Glock 22 and 27.  Never had a feeding problem.  Load them to 1.125 as well.   RCBS and Lee dies.

Are you using Glock mags?

Is it a really low powder charge?

I thought Glock had better supported chambers in guns newer than 10-12 years old as well.

The lead loads are 6.6 of #5
The FMJ load is 6.8 of power pistol
No Crimp on FMJ

The 160gr bullet is from Xtreme Bullets.

I recently fired a box of PMC FMJ 180gr I think.     100% reliablilty

I pull the bbl on my 21 and make sure my loads sit in the chamber just like factory.
They didnt plop as smooth in my 21 as in my 1911, but they damn sure fed as good.
Was speer 200 lswc. I do put a pretty good crimp on. Maybe too much.

Ps:  I have the carbide 4 die set

I believe the crimp die in my Lee Carbide set is a factory crimp die.     Ill give it a whirl.    Thanks
