I'm going to shoot some hogs tomorrow that are tearing up my duck lease. I don't really have time to work up a load for this and was wondering if anybody had a pet load for the 55gr Barnes TSX round using Varget, BLC-2, or Benchmark.
It's for an AR with 223 Wylde chamber, 16". Any help would be great. I can only seem to find loads for the 62 gr and already have my rifle sighted in for 55gr. Thanks |
| You may not have H4895. I realize you asked about data for other powders. 25.5 grains of H4895 works very well with the 55 grain TXS. It is an M193 equivalent with a really good bullet. 3100 fps from a 16" carbine and close to MOA accuracy. Barnes considers this to be the most accurate powder for the 55 TXS and I agree. |

I do not load a 55gr TSX yet, but my Lee manual shows 20-22.2gr of Accurate 2200.
My Lyman's #49 has nothing on that projectile. Hodgdon's website shows 22.8-24gr Varget. 24gr is a compressed load. http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp |
