I have been reloading for a few years now on a Dillon SDB. I reload 45acp and 9mm. Previous to components being so hard to find I used large CCI primers for 45.
A while back when the shortages were high I wound up picking up some Remington large primers. I loaded a few hundred of them. I was at the range and was getting dead strikes. At this point I was shooting my high round count 1911. I was like ok maybe time she needs a tune up. In the mean time my XDS was returned from the recall. I took that and the rounds back to the range. The XDS has a very low round count and the same is happening so I know it isn't the 1911. The primer has a dent in it. If I have the round in the 1911 and re cock the hammer it fire the round. I only have about a 100 of them left that are finished and can shoot them out but what are my options for the 1200 primers I have? Any help or advice would be appreciated. |

Thanks much for the input. I do inspect the rounds and have found a few that weren't flush. Well this makes sense. I had shoulder surgery in April and was so bored I was reloading left
handed. I thought I was seating them well but after the responses I do remember not wanting to push too hard with my off hand. Lucky for me only a 100 rounds left of them and shoulder all healed up. Thanks again. |

They were not as high as the one in the upper photo.. I used the wrong terms meaning they were not fully seated. I was a bit hesitant when seating them left handed but thought they were
good to go obviously not. When doing it I was not powering them in as I am stronger left handed but dont have the same feel and didn't want to break the press arm becaue of it. I had never had any problems like this but I had never had shoulder surgery either
