Merry Christmas!
For Christmas i got a Savage Axis .223 and a Lee Classic Loader.
My Question is since I'm doing neck only resizing can i use once fired brass from a different gun? ( i got 250 pcs from somebody here). i tried a dummy round in my chamber and it fits, just with a little more force than a factory round.
Thanks in advance.

Generally, No.  But it's worth a try.  Just take your fired brass and run each one through the chamber.  If they chamber then they can be neck sized, if not, then no.

steve is dead on again.

I usually full length the first time around but hey if the fit use them. The only thing you are losing is the time it takes to try them in your chamber.

If you find some that are tight you can even short size them just enough to make them fit. Still make sure you size the neck at least 90%. I would neck size them all then try them, then fix the ones that don't fit.

Another brass question.
the brass im going to reload is all between 1.735-1.745.
My question is should i trim them all down to 1.735 in order to have uniform case length and eventually OAL?
Thanks, Eric

Since you are not going to be crimping I wouldn't trim them all shorter. Normal trim recommended length is 1.750 and maximum length of cases is 1.760". If you full length sized they would grow in length some but I'd just seat and shoot. 1.735 is a little short and wouldn't want to trim that short but shouldn't be a problem. Now for an inexpensive press and a full length die set/

Case length does Not affect OAL.  You can have perfectly uniform OAL with various case lengths.

I would not trim them.  If you are looking for ultimate accuracy then uniform case length may be a good idea.  With your current set-up (Lee Classic) and your used brass of unknown origin, trimming to a uniform length will have little affect.
