First it was Tac, and IMR 4198-- to get started in this of course, I still have some, but couldn't add any as it was out of stock, so then I needed a few #'s of Varget and then 748 also appeared in my stock.  Now I got a load of Tightgroup for the 9mm and decided I needed a stash of good SS109 powder, h335 is sold out, but they had a bunch of CFE223--until I got home and the phone delivered news that h335 just came in after I left.  Do I really need h335, I think I do.  I've yet to officially finish a # of anything How can I save any money if I keep this up?  Oh well all in fun and I promise to standardize on something other than the Tightgroup.

I know the feeling. I've been reloading less than two weeks, I actually just loaded my first .223 rounds two days ago and started prep two weeks ago. Anyway, I've spent about $700 already. I have 3 different powders and 3 different projectiles. The rest was start up cost, I can see this is going to be as bad as EBR disease...

I'm from Georgia and live in north Florida, one would think us good ol' boy types would have plenty of access to reloading supplies/consumables and what have you, but there are no stores that I can find within reasonable driving distance that has anything. Fucking hazmat fees abound.

Try that from Alaska. I would pay the hazmat fees if someone would just ship to me.

My Dad found H335 at a gun store today. I told him to pick me up a pound since I haven't see it stocked anywhere in the last year.

I guess that's why my motto is "don't complain, someone would love to be in your shoes". Good luck with it up there, bud.

I judge what I need based on bullets I have.  I like to have enough powder to reload the bullets on the shelf.

I'm not above buying something I don't need if the price is right, though.

I've just started experimenting with powders other than my "old" favorites.  I bought some Accurate Arms 1680 and 2250, some 800X and another one I can't remember off the top of my head.

I need some (not for me, for my son) H335 now and I may get up to Green Tops this weekend to look for some as there was none at the gun show in Fredericksburg last weekend.

I guess I haven't got to the point yet where I buy powder for a good price and then feel the need to buy primers and bullets to match out the powder.  Powder (like bullets and primers) keeps for many years.  I've recently used up some Bullseye, Unique, IMR4895, IMR4198, etc. that was in my attic for over 25 years.  No issues with it.  I'll eventually use up the rest of the old stuff that I moved to VA with in 1985 just to get rid of it.  Who knows, I might find some accurate loads using it (now that I've stopped trying to fix my M1A's accuracy issues with different loads).
