I've got a 6x45 barrel on order and wondering if I could open up a .223 trim die so i can use the RT1200 , my thinking is thats what it appears that Gracey did with a .223 holder to make a 300blk holder

If I knew what exactly you wanted to do I could give you a good answer. I'm not familiar with the tools you have.

I'm a machinist (25 years+) and have done a lot of "G" jobs over time. Some were reloading die related.

to me it seems like I should be able to take a Dillon .223 trim die and ream the neck opening to the dia. used for  .243/6mm and be able to size and trim 6mm-223 / 6x45 brass

I am a little surprised at how short the list of those Dillon dies is when compared to the popularity of some bbls and chambers... but I am sure Dillon didn't survive this long by making stuff nobody wanted either.

I suppose you could ask them if they have ever made any and get their advice too. Phoenix is chock full of very high tech machine shops with good capabilities. I would wonder if they have not covered this ground once or twice.

If you reverse engineer the fits of the other trimmer dies, I see no reason why the 223 die shouldn't supply enough material to create your 6x45 but I would hold my tongue till I designed the cut. My guess is your scheme will work.
An open CBN wheel on a Moore or Studer S120 would dial that hole into what ever you desired without much fuss.

Think it would be just fine, think monday I'll check to make sure CH4D doesn't before opening one up. so far tho it's looking like I will have to open a .22 case gauge up if I want a gauge

I wonder if you will be able to ream metal that is hardened. Then you will most likely have to buy a non-standard size reamer, (carbide reamer most likely).

CH4D had trim die instock, so it's ordered
