So after reading through most of these threads the general consensus on saving money while reloading(lol) is to buy used. There's a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master Reloading Kit in my area for 200 dollars and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on it. It looks to be in excellent condition.
Is this thing going to last me thousands and thousands of rounds? I only plan on reloading 300blk, but want something that is going to efficiently load my rounds the proper way every time. I was looking at buying a Dillon 550b, but I think that's a bit silly for what my goals are. Should I do this or no? |

Make sure that the ram doesn't wiggle excessively in the body, and that everything does look well taken care of. Then buy it, and run home before the seller changes their mind. Your kids will load on it. |

It will load them fine and last a long time. The older ones were built in the US - not sure where they are made now. Your question on "efficiently" is something only you can answer. Single stage loading on the RC will be slow, but it will get the job done. Even in the future if you up-grade to a faster press you will find many uses for the RC. The $200 for this is a good starting point, get your feet wet see if you like reloading and if its something you want to do. If you find later its just not your thing, selling it should be no problem.
Good luck - let us know what you decide. |
