Have friends and family that I reload for. I do have the proper FFL to do so. They bring me components, I charge them labor, and they get their ammo made the way they want it...after I verify what they want is safe.
However, I'm now doing enough volume for friends and family that even though I've never had an incident, that some insurance might be a smart idea. Would you guys mind sharing your preferred insurance carrier for this need? I contacted State Farm and they laughed at me. |

If the NRA does not have an endorsed program. You probably need to work with an insurance broker rather than a direct insurance company/agent. The broker can access the excess and surplus market. These are the non-admitted insurers but often have not flexibility than your home, auto, and small business types. I can tell you though, it likely won't be cheap. I am thinking $5k- $10k minimum premiums. Maybe more.

If it's going to be that much, I may have to scale back my "friends" list that I load for. |

Nra has it. I recommend a $2 millon policy. Around $1600 a year. There are a ton of variables though. Do you have your 06ffl? If the NRA has A program than that certainly is your best route. As I mentioned above, I am an insurance broker and can tell you there are a finite number of markets that would even touch this type of risk on the small scale. Its just too much exposure for the premiums they could charge, leading to steep minimum (often fully earned) premiums of $5k or more. |

I and a partner seriously considered commercial loading of ammunition.
I was quoted 15 to 18k depending on how much ammunition we planned on making per year. The quote was solely based on how many rounds we planned on making. We decided it wasn't worth the cost. |

| If you do enough searching you'll find that you can get different answers from the the ATF on this, there is a old thread by 1911smith IIRC his congressman set him straight on it , that it would be part of the cost of doing bussines. It's a state Dept issue not ATF |
