Hey, my car was broken into last night and I had 200 rounds of 223 reloads and 200 rounds of 45 acp that went for a walk. How would you value these types of things for a replacement cost?

Or should I just suck it up..?

Using current pricing per round for factory loaded off the shelf.

Don't say it's reloads.  Unless you lost enough to cover your deductible, is it worth it?

They got my two 22s that I was going to take out squirrels with too.. and quite a lot of ammo, the door probably needs at least a new outer skin from the prying too..

50c per round.  Just a ballpark figure.

I would say the cost of components plus shipping plus time to load them multiplied by your hourly rate at work. Your time is worth something and the easy number to use is what you get at work.
Sorry to hear someone took your stuff.

If your car was parked near home,  first and foremost you should invest in security cameras.  They have already paid off at my place several times,  and when kept visible enough,  they act as a deterrent too.  My area is very sketchy.

With that said...  It really depends on what sort of quality rounds you made.  Were these 77gr Sierra MatchKing projectiles in the .223?  Match grade .45?  If you made these things with high dollar components,  they are high dollar rounds too.  If they were mil-surp pulled bullets and plated .45...  Just bill them as low dollar factory.

Well the 223 was 77gr match kings and tac. The 45 was all lswc match-y ammo.

I'm just frustrated right now. I lost a lot of stuff and I'm not happy, we shall see when I get back to the insurance people today.
