Trimming 223 brass today and had a user error while trimming. I usually check every 10-15 cases but for some reason I wasn't even checking until I started a new batch.
Now I have probably 100-200 cases that are measuring 1.732 and up, will this still be okay to load up or is it time for 300blk? If your wondering it was from a giraud that had the die some how getting deeper towards the blade and trimming too much.

1.730"  and up  is OK. Neck tension will be less. May or may not be a problem. Check for bullet movement after loading an auto, before firing.    SAAMI

Myself, I wouldn't load them.

But I have lots of 223 brass and high standards.

Any case that measures less than 1.748 after sizing, I reform into 300 blk.

IIRC, the trim-to length for .223 is 1.750. However, if you are using RCBS X-dies, I think they say to initially trim to 1.740, then just resize through the die for the life of the case without trimming again. Check with RCBS to confirm the trim-to length I provided.

Thanks I think I'll sell them for people to convert since I don't have 300blk.

I'm using dillon dies btw.
