Anyone using this and Varget and Lapua brass running anything over 46  grains? I worked up to try to establish max but we were unable to really get any excessive pressure signs all the way up to 48 gr. No cratered primer strikes, just barely flattend primers, bolt lift was normal, brass looked ok.

I loaded 46.5gr with OAL of 2.910" and not seeing any distinguishable pressure signs?

This is the group the load shot at 600 yards

You're using more powder with a 178 than what use for a maximum with 155 grain SMK's. You may be getting away with it because of your OAL" but I would back off some.

Load work up is more important than what a book says. Book max loads are not equal to real life in my experience. They don't take oal, throat, chamber dimensions, brass capacity, etc into account.

Match shooters nearly as a rule shoot faster than any book load because many of the popular high bc bullets like to go fast.

I'm using 44.4 gr Varget in Lapua brass for my .308 AAC-SD.  Loaded about .030" froim the lands.  I forget the exact OAL off the top of my head but I have to single load.  Velocity is around 2600 fps.
