Anyone ever heard of this or use it? Its stick powder. $12 a pound. I'm thinking of getting some.
I want to use it for .223, the jugs say 23gr of it for a ss109. I mainly want to use it for 55gr though. |

I don't think you want to use this for a 223 load.
Its the same as IMR 7383. You can Google it yourself, but my reading has lead me to it being a triple base propellent, which is very low flash used in .50 spotter rounds. The third base being nitroguanidine, which produces a very heavy ammonia smell. Very bulky extruded powder. |

Chemically, it is superior in performance to single and double based propellant; however, to be at its best, it needs a large gun (battleship type). |

IMR 7383 is a TRIPLE base (NG, Nitrocellulose, and Nitroguanadine) powder designed for 50 cal Spotter Tracer rounds. When you start looking there is a lot of info about the powder out there, but the vast majority point to it being best for 30-06 cases and larger. By best, I mean better than not having any powder... |
