Anyone got one?

We're talking about that dopey little set with  the rod to push in the primer and the neck sizing die.

I'm thinking of getting one in .308 to use it to teach my nephew to reload as it shows the basics.

Good idea?

Where can I get the best price on one? Used is OK.

No.  Edit Add:  I have used them when i started. Even had a "Target Model"..   Money is better $pent on a pre$$ & die$. Seating a primer should be done with a hand tool to avoid setting off  a primer when seating. Brass must be  full length sized soon or later, because the unit only neck sizes the 308. . The loads/velocity is very reduced when using the Lee load data. A scale is still needed for safety.   The Classic "Hammer" Loader  will load ammo. Great for 20 rounds a year, maybe.

No.

I've never used one, but I'm going to go with "no" for $500, Alex.

Small hands probably won't cut the mustard.

Go on Ebay and find an older SS press and teach him that way.

Yes they work fine. I started reloading on them many years ago.

I know you like simple old school stuff (yes I read your blog) and the Lee Loader is that.

Excellent idea.  Get one of those dead blow mallets and you are set.  It does everything you need to reload for a bolt/single shot rifle.

You can reload anywhere with under 5 pounds of gear, the most weight would be bullets.  Reload at the range.
