I case gauge all my 45 after reloading and generally there is no problem.  Every once in a while there will be one that has a problem but lately I have come upon some RWS brass,  they will not size down to the Wilson case gauge.  They will go in all but about a 1/4 inch from the bottom and that is it.  These cases have a funny rib on the inside by the primer and are very nice and stout cases.  I separate them to the side and just shoot them for practice and they will feed and function.  It just bothers me why they will  not conform like all the other brand cases.

These cases were bought in a bag of 1000 range brass so I don't know if they were all shot through the same gun, after I shoot them and run them through the Dillion for the second reloading they still can't pass the case gauge test.

I was wondering if any one else had noticed this problem or had a solution for it.

Just a guess, but it sounds like you got some glock brass :) The partially unsupported chamber allows a small bulge near the base where your sizer die is not contacting. First recommendation would be to make sure that your sizer is fully contacting the shellholder / shellplate so that it can work as much of the case as possible. If that works then you are GTG. Your next step is to look into a Lee push through sizer. This will size the entire case and get you to the correct dimensions.

It sounds like your 45 chamber is on the loose side of SAMMI specs. Although you may not need to go through all the trouble to size out the cases, it is worthwhile in the event that you want to fire the cartridges in a different firearm.

I do have good contact on the shell plate.  It could be the Glock  scenario but it is only with that RWS brass, but that could be.

Sizes fine for me. Last lot RWS sized was done with Hornady sizer but I've sized same brass with Dillon and Lee dies.

Are you sizing single stage or progressive ?

What brand press, brand dies ?

I would venture an educated guess RWS brass was loaded to a higher pressure or RWS uses a thinner case web. One thing we know for certain, something about RWS is different so something in sizing process will have to be adjusted.

I reload on a Dillion 550b,  luckily I don't have much RWS brass.  The dies are Dillion also.

The brass looks yo be once shot, not reloaded.
