At the range I have been finding a lot of F.C cases that have silver primers that do not look like they are reloads. Some even have sealant on them. Are they reloads or did they come from Federal like that? Thanks for any help with this.

Federal bulk pack 9mm and 40 comes from the factory with silver primers. Haven't shot any other federal myself.

Deprime the cases. 9 times out of 10 you will be able to tell if they are 1x fired by looking at the primer pocket.

What caliber?

With 223, look for the primer crimp. If it's there, then cases are once fired.

9mm, doesn't really matter, load them up.

I have new Federal .223 bulk packs that use LC brass and silver primers, with a blue primer sealant.

I have several thousand 1x fired FC cases from GovLiquidation that had silver primers and blue sealant.

They all had a strong crimp on the primer pocket. You will know if they are 1x when you try and seat a primer unsuccessfully.

I know Federal Tactical has colored sealant (blue) on silver primers.

I have a bunch of new federal 223 with new 09 to 12 head stamps and they all have silver primers with blue sealant. I'm guessing they changed primer supplyer.

I have picked up some 1X FC brass with silver primers and no crimp

some had red sealant some had blue

I found that the pockets were super loose

YMMV

but i loaded em once and lost them
