Hi all, I'm trying to purchase some bullets from Powder Valley. Am I still required to send in photo ID, or that's just for powder, and primer purchases? I was going to ask them directly, but with the back log they have now, I doubt they'll be able to get back to me on time.

Thanks,
GlockMonk

I've never been asked for an ID by any company for just bullets.

I can't say for sure if it will be required, my first purchase from them was primers.  I had to provide ID.  Then I just placed an order for bullets, and did not have to provide ID, but they already have it..

With the backlog they have for processing/shipping, you have some time.

If you send an email to them, they will respond within a couple days.  As kthem if you need to.  I was able to just take a photo of my ID with my cell phone and email it to them.

I've ordered powder and primers numerous times from them and have never given any ID. However, someone 21 years of age or older with a valid, state issued photo I'd needs to be present to sign for those items upon delivery. I don't see why you'd need id for just bullets. By the way, I love powder valley!

Yeah.  So they say.  UPS just left 25,000 primers on my porch a few weeks ago.  LOL

Thanks guys. I guess, I'll go ahead and place an order. I've already been a victim of identity fraud, and am very skittish, when it comes to providing ID to some unknown strangers on the internet.

Powder valley is good people.  Lots of satisfied customers.  I understand your concern, but I wouldn't worry about them.

I had to provide a FOID and DL to order Nosler projectiles from Midsouth.

You've got to be kidding me! I would've gotten from a different place. If nobody else has them, then I would wait. In fact, I'm waiting on my backordered bullets from Zero. The lady said, "it would be sometime late this year"

Might depend on your state. I just got powder delivered this week from both PV and MidSouth. Had to be there to sign for it.

The only place I think I have sent a DL to is AIM. Maybe Wideners, I can't remember.

I think it more depends on locale..  I live in a way small town of 18,000 people, at the end of a cul de sac.  My porch is a pretty safe bet, and it's covered, so it's not like they set boxes in the snow.

I know AIM does, they have my FFL on file, Wideners as far as I know doesn't.  I've not bought any primers or powder from Wideners, but I have ordered ammo, and never needed ID.  As far as Powder Valley IDK, not ordered from them.

I was just happy to be able to order a few at that time.  Looking for 62 gr to try out.  I think they were trying to play it safe with the myriad of stupid laws in this country they have to tip toe around.
