Swaging a .310 bullet down to .308, using CH-4D swaging die. Lube bullet and it gets about half way and stops, will not go through. CH-4D says you can go down .004" no prob. What lube will work best for this? I am using reg. bullet lube.

Please define:  reg. bullet lube. Brand is needed.

 







I'm partial to Imperial when forming cases.

+1 on Imperial
If that won't work, then you are into some extreme cold working which isn't casual.
If you need to resort to an EP additive in a lubricant, you should be considering multi-step forming.

That's what I use.  Some use a mix of STP and lanolin. Case lube won't work too well.

He's tring to draw down the dia of the bullet not size the case.
