Sorry if this has been asked and answered before. I recall reading un the Dillon Press something about  primers being changed from LG pistol to something different? Is my memory correct.?  If so can someone clarify that for me? Thanks.

.45 ACP comes in both large and small pistol primer sized pockets. Separate them as you collect em.

Yep and the SPP ones work just as well as the LPP. Some folks have gotten all worked up about it and don't bother with the SPP ones, just collect until you have a large enough amount then run them.

The biggest deal, from a practical standpoint, about .45ACP brass coming in both small and large primer sizes is that you have to sort your brass by primer size.  You MUST separate brass with small primer pockets from brass with large pockets, or you may wind up crushing a large primer with a case that has a small pocket - this can be "loud" to say the least.  If you're taking even minimal steps to process your brass safely, this is trivial.

This a post of mine, at first it threw me, but was clarified here a few months ago. Like post above, separate the brass and you'll be fine.

I have nothing but small primer 45 brass.  It shoots no different from the LP brass as far as I can tell.  Went this way because I also go through lots of 9mm and 5.56.  I load them all with SR non-magnum primers and have been for quite some time with excellent results.  Cuts down on the selection of primers I have to keep on hand.  For a while online the small pocket 45's were really cheap too.  Seems nobody wanted them!

Thanks for clarifying this for me. I wasn't aware that it was the brass that was changing, I've got 3-4 thousand rounds of lpp brass so I'm good for awhile.

My Dillon 1050 swager bar finds them before it gets to the priming station...lol But it still slows me down when I hit one and the brass is scrap after that happens..
