I have a question about a drum of 308 I just opened,I bought this off a navy sub base, this brass
doesn't appear to have been fired in a machine gun,my question is, what weapon does the navy have

that fires 7.62 that is not a MG

The Navy often hosts Marines as guests.  Some of those Marines may carry some 7.62 stuff.  The sub-base could have Marine guards, or be hosting SEALs.

It's probably from a M240B. I have lots of brass from a M240 and it looks just like normal once fired brass, unlike some of the brass I have seen coming out of a M-60.

I'll ask a buddy who just got out.

We had M14's on the boat (boomer) in the late 90's.  I think they have M16 and an M240 now.
