Well last night while watching tv and doing some priming, I noted that my primers were not seating flush.  It seems that my connecting rod has worn a flat spot and is not pushing the ram up all the way giving me this problem.  The bigger problem is that lee "upgraded" to new priming tool the XR and the $3 part is not compatible so it looks like I need to get a whole new tool.  I have been very happy with my auto prime and primed thousands of rounds with it with not problems.  If anyone knows a fix (other than commisioning a machine shop to mill a replacement part) for the old tool please let me know.

Barring an economic fix/source for spares I haven't found yet, what does everyone like in hand primers these days?  The new Lee XR reviews are a little concerning, but it seems many people like me were happy with the old auto prime and not excited about the "upgrade".  For the hand primers out there, what would you recommend today?

FWIW I bought an XR lever when I recently broke the one on my trusty AutoPrime and it did work. It was not a perfect replacement but it was usable. I did pick up an XR at the same time though as it has features to safely use Federals, which occassionaly are the only brand I can find locally.
