I got a good deal on 16 pounds of 884 and wanted to know how you guys like it?

I'l be useing 55 grainers and some 62 gr. bullets for my reloads. I've used a ton of

H-335 and hope this is close to H-335 dependibility and accuracy.

Thank you.

WC844 works well for loading AR's with 55 gr. and 62 grain bullets. I've used a few different lots of it and have seen a fast lot and one slow lot. The fast lot with 55 grain had a maximum at about 24.5 grains and the slow lot wasn't maximum at 26 grains. So, you have to work up every time you switch lots. It's close to H335 but not always the same.

Do yourself a favor and just mix the two together now.  Then pour them back into the jugs.  Even if they are marked the same lot.  This way you will only have to work up one time .  I learned this after I got some of this the 1st time.  Been doing it like that ever since.  Only diff is I mix more than 16# at a time.

Any advice on 844T?  Its supposed to be similar to WC 844, but its formulated slightly hotter for lighting tracers.

I will be loading 62 grn FMJs.

Would 23 grains be a safe starting point?

My lot of 844 is a bit slower than my lot of 846, at least according to the chronograph. Quite a bit of load work up with the Nosler 52 grain bullet. I've got to say, I like the 846 a bit better. Less muzzle flash.
