I may have an opportunity to purchase a drum full of .308 military brass.  Is $40/1000 a good price (not cleaned or swaged)?

Depends on WHAT KIND of military .308 brass... also, depends on the condition of said brass.  Can you get some pics so you have a better idea of what it is and what the condition might be like?

I would definitely make most of them available to fellow reloaders......don't have any particulars on headstamp, condition, etc., but I'm assuming all of it will be reloadable.

If it's once fired Lake City 308 brass then yes that is an excellent deal.  Some will want to know if the brass what shot from a machine gun which is likely the case...

i can tell you that is a STEAL of a price. you should jump on it immediately if its not all blanks. i can also tell you that right now, prices at the gov auctions are going for 4.50 to 5.00 per pound plus 10% buyers fee.

M60 fired brass is not desirable. 240B brass is god to go. the extractor is a little rough but it should be reloadable brass.
if you get the drum, please email me. im interested in some

I got almost the same deal, just not that much quantity, and the brass is awesome. It was a bit short but after the first firing they are all good to go. I didnt get as much powder in them. Most people said it would be about a grain lower but it was more. Just work up your loads and it will be great.

WTB, (want to buy) post after warning.

It is very easy to follow the COC, code of conduct. (red conduct code button 2/3 way up page on the right.)

Instead of posting in thread, send an IM.
