I've noticed that factory .38+P ammo has the +P stamped on the brass.

Does reloading +P require a special class of brass or is this simply "moar powder"?

no, .38 brass is .38 brass. You can load +P specs into standard .38 brass.

no, .38 brass is .38 brass. You can load +P specs into standard .38 brass.


This.  They just mark the +P so you'll know not to shoot the commercial ammo out of a standard 38spl pistol as some can't take the increased pressure of even a +P load.

Since the others have answered your question I will add that I load all of my +p loads in nickel brass so I can keep them seperate.
