for now on all my crimped or 9mm brass with tight primer pockets go straight to the scrap bucket

Have so much non crimped 9mm brass it's not funny.  Problem is even if I pull this out of the reloading stream, swage the primer pockets, then reload it, I'll find more crimped brass and won't be able to tell it apart from the previous processed 9mm brass, so it becomes a big time waster.

Brass in question is mostly NATO cross marked WCC and S&B brass.  Not all the S&B brass has red or green sealant on them

9mm brass is like water....

Throw them in a container and sell at the next gun show.

I never really have had many issues with the WCC as far as having to swage it, the S&B on the other hand is a bitch!

I never removed the crimp from my 9mm brass but since separating it (the crimped brass) from the rest it just sits there. I have thousands of non-crimped  9mm cases and have never bought one. If fact I traded a thousand or more away less than a year ago and have since picked up twice as many. The only thing that keeps me from throwing the crimped stuff into the scrap bucket is I'm a freakin pack rat when it comes to usable stuff.

I've been tidying up my reloading room, I keep finding little tubs and boxes of odds and ends like this crimped brass.

A year ago I did a trade with a member here for some once fired 762x39 brass he had on EE.  Wanted some 357 and a bunch of 45ACP as I recall.  I didn't have that much 45ACP brass as most of it was already loaded, what was wanted in trade would of wiped most of my stash out.  I traded anyway, and now I have about twice as much 45ACP as I did before the trade.  My shooting club buddies always save 45 ACP and other brass they don't reload for and give it to me

I know someone here that would be more than glad to have that brass.

It's been my experience to have .45acp brass, I need to shoot my loaded cartridges first.

Someone at my range seems to have an endless supply of Radway Green 9mm. That crap is crimped tighter than a nun's c$&@. WCC usually doesn't require a swage, but the RG will ruin primers if they slip past depriming.

I don't load 9MM.  To run out of .45 brass I would have to sell it all.  No way could I ever need that much loaded .45.

The picture is deceiving, I only have like 100 cases, the rest of the scrap bucket is full of other stuff.  You can find 100+ cases of 9mm easily at your next range outing.

Meh, the WCC stuff loads just like non-crimped for me.

The S&B does seem to have tight primer pockets, but I still haven't had a problem with pressing the new primer in.

I just keep an eye out for berdan primed cases (toss them) and keep the rest....even if it is just 9mm.

If 9mm is like water I'm dieing of dehydration. I went to range yesterday to break in my new rifle and send some rounds down range but mostly to snag some 9mm brass as my supply has dried up and I found exactly 1 handful but yet I scored 657 lake city 223/5.56 always find what I'm not in need of. I've noticed more and more people packing out their brass wich sucks for the brass whores like myself

Pack everything out and trade whatever you don't need for whatever you do!

At Green Valley, both Columbia and Hallsville ranges. It's hard to see gravel for all the 9mm and .40 S&W laying about. Pisses me off because .38 super comp is easily lost in that trash. I kick as much out of the way as possible. Everyone should have to police their own brass, no exceptions.

x2

Nothing pisses me off more than going to the out door range and seeing the aftermath of someone who just mag dumped 500 .22LR and split. However I do offer to police brass for shooters there who do not wish to keep their brass, always makes them and me happy.

OP, I know for only 100 9mm cases the cost of the tools is not worth it, but these are some nice tools to have on-hand

usmscout,

How can you "run out" of 9mm brass? Don't you pick up your own?

I recently went through my 9mm brass and separated all that "appeared" to be once fired. This is done buy primer color and case condition and head stamp (brand). <COC Specific to Sales #2> dryflash3
