Seems like a lot of people really love the Lee collet dies. Any downside to these? I'm about to buy a couple die sets and I need to decide if I should buy the 3-die set with the neck die or 2-die set and buy the Lee collet dies separate.

The Lee Collet die is an excellent Neck die, it produces extremely concentric ammo and it does not require lube.
It is set up by Lee for about .001 neck tension, I find this to be inadequate in most of my rifles. The fix is to chuck the mandrel into a drill and polish ot down to your desired size. Or, you can call Lee and order a "reduced" mandrel for about $5. Whatever die set you get, get one with a Full Length die included. At some point your neck sized brass will have to be FL sized. |
