So I went to pick up primers the other day and all they had was CCI small rifle magnum primers. Do I need to adjust the powder load if I'm using these primers rather than the normal #400 small rifle primers? I searched online, but couldn't find a definitive answer. Thanks! BTW I'm reloading various brand .223 brass with Ramshot TAC powder and Hornady 55 gr SP.

conventional wisdom says change any componet - start over.

20 fps difference, maybe. I would work a load up given choice in powder and since this is rifle loads.

It's always a good idea to back the charge weight down 5% to recheck the load.  All that is required is one or two cartridges at each charge weight to verify that the pressure didn't increase.  Don't be surprised if you do see signs of an increase.
