Need recommendations for a place to process (clean, size, swage primer pockets, trim) about 5k of LC (non-nato marked) brass. I'd like to find a place that takes brass in trade for payment or partial payment.
I have much more, just looking to get some done faster than I can do it for some bulk reloading... |

Thanks... |

Called the first place they said no, scarch only offers BRASS TRADE... I want my brass back, I know its source. Thanks anyway. Anyone else? |
|
Sorry, I didn't catch that you wanted your own brass back.....
Since you live in FL, maybe you will find a 3G or SR club in your area that will run your brass on an their machine for a fee. When you think in those terms, 5k isn't going to be enough for Scharch to bother with... that is all set-up and no run for them, not how they make their bread and butter. |

| I just recently sent 1k rounds to River Valley Ordnance to be processed and they did a good job. Door to door was about 3 weeks. |

I remember them having massive problems a couple of yrs ago (documented on this site and others). As a matter of fact, a friend of mine had sent them 4k lc brass and primers a yr ago and just got them back last week. |

I'm going to send in a flat rate box full of 223 and see what I get back. Their price is excellent, and deserves additional investigation. I'm also in the process of using a member here, "LonelyRaven", to process 2 flat rates full of 308 brass. I got a pretty fantastic deal on the brass in the EE, and didn't open the boxes before sending them, but they were apparently awful. He charges $100/k for his work, but that will be worth it if they come back in good shape considering he takes a lot of additional steps and the low original price paid for the brass. I also really like the $2 per pound being offered at TopBrass. I generally pick up at least 10-20 pounds of brass in a weekend at the range, and could definitely see that parlaying into some nice pristine new stuff. |

Try Danny Henry, Custom Brass Processing:
http://www.custombrassprocessing.com/ He was shut down for awhile due to some health issues, but I got an e-mail from him about 2 hours ago saying he was back. I've sent thousands of pieces of brass to him before and he's an honest, good man to deal with and does high quality work with a quick turn around. He said he'll be running slower until he's back up to speed, but he's still solid. I'll be sending some LC 7.62 to him next week. |

I have used Danny's services twice in the past and was very happy both times. |

I got 1K rounds all boxed up, where am I sending them, River Valley or Custom Brass? I'd go with Custom Brass. Danny is solid. Danny sent me a partial cash refund back with my brass because I overestimated the # I had in my box. It was only a few bucks, but not very many people are going to do that now-a-days (IMO). |

http://www.bradswarehouse.com/
he does a lot of 300BLK processing but i'm sure the 5.56 for you won't be that much |

I've also bought fully processed brass from buckwheat762. It was clean FC, but I have found that a couple of rounds loaded from it did not chamber in my LMT and required some forceful unsticking. This could have admittedly been due to other factors, however, and would repeat (although not with FC brass –– the primer pockets are loose on the majority after only 2-3 firings). |

I've swapped some emails with River Valley, and have been pleased with the responses. Hopefully, they've turned the corner and gotten back into things full bore. I heard that the proprietor had died and that his children were struggling. I also heard that their machinery was quite unique and difficult to deal with. If any or all of that's true, I hope they've gotten a handle on the business and get the company back into full production. I'm going to send them a box and see what happens. At only about 100 per full flat rate box including shipping both ways, that's a fantastic deal for me (who picks up 3x range brass more than I shoot). |
