Thanks for the compliment! It tickles me to death that he is gun crazy. I emphasize safety all the time and he treats his airsoft guns as if he is holding my 1911. Like i said it tickles me that he loves shooting and everything guns. Now I'm just trying to incorporate some sports in him. When I suggest sandlot football or baseball he just says "shooting is a sport isn't it daddy? Well that's what i wanna do". Lol. Its not to easy to argue with that.

Good... The institutional knowledge, skills and tips and tricks involved in reloading means that in many cases they have to be passed down to the younger generations. Think about it... How many times have you read something in a book, or came across a problem that you couldn't figure out on your own. What did you do? Call grand-pa, find some old-timer at your range, get on here for advice (or all three) only to hear something like, "Ohhh yeah... I had that happen to me before. Back your die off a 1/4 turn/blow it out with an air compressor/your OAL is too short/etc."
If we didn't pass it on, this hobby would effectively disappear in two generations. |

Good job OP. I wished I'd been reloading when my son was small.
On a twist of the theme..... My son actually had to get me started reloading metallic! Of course I got him into our "sport" when he was 6 at the trap/skeet range with a .410 I was just hesitant for decades and didn't shoot that much center fire until about 7 or 8 years ago. He turned 21 and bought himself a Lee starter set. All of a sudden it was...."If he can do it, so can I." I'm sure he had ulterior motives. When I'm long gone he'll be using my Dillons and gear for a very long time. I'll never see the cost recuperation in my lifetime for the gear I've acquired. haha. |
