650 is ready to load up some .45.

There's about 4000ish pieces of brass currently being tumbled up, but I haven't bought any powder or bullets.

These will be used for training/drills out of 2 semi custom 1911's.

I know berry's are ~$120 per 1000. Are they worth trying or would I be better using another?

I'm using the Missouri Bullet Co. 200 gr SWC, they run about 35 bucks/500, or $70/1000. I'd have to check the number, but I think it's the IDP for major power factor?
It's been a very good bullet and works 100% in all 3 of my 1911's.

These are great bullets, I load them with 4.0 grs Clays.

Shoot them in my Kimber.

+1 on the MBC 200gr LSWC... currently using these in my 1911

cast 230 gr Round Nose out of regular WW over 5gr of W231

Had used Missouri 230 gr RN over the same charge prior to casting my own....

Both rounds work great out of a 5" Kimber Stainless target 2 and a 4" super carry pro
I shoot the same bullet out of a Glock 30 with an aftermarket barrel, that also works very well.

Kinda my all around plinker round for all my 45's

Looks like I'm going the MBC 200 swc and 230 rn.

It helps that they're about 15 miles away from me and I can go pick them up. Who'd of known?

Is the WST cleaner and less smokey than the clays? I hate smoke.

I use 5.2 grains if WW-231 and seat them at 1.250" with no crimp. The mouth measures close to .471" when loaded. Velocity is 800 fps. A mild load that functions and shoots just fine for general practice.

For 45, which I shoot 5,000+ a year, i use 3 bullets.... 230g RN Softballs from MBC, 200 LSWC from MBC, and 230g Berry RN plated. Each of these with between 5.0 and 5.3 W231. I can only shoot the MBC at my outdoor ranges since none of my indoor ones allow lead, so I need some plater, and berrys work great for that.

Fairly new with the 1911, just got a SR1911. I am using Berry's 230 grain RN with 4.6 of Titegroup and it seems to shoot fairly well. Was using Berry's 200 grain HP with 5.0 of Titegroup in my Ruger P90 and it was my favorite load (and the gun seemed to like them too) but the SR1911 dosent seem to want to feed the HPs as well. It does not like my reloads anyway, have yet to try factory hollow points.

W-231 powder goes through my 650 powder measure like $hit through a goose. 5.0 behind a 200 gr LRN .45 bullet seated to 1.250 and .471 at the mouth. I sample powder charges periodically and they are always on the money.

I do process the brass seperately in one pass through the machine then load seperately. The loading pass only involves belling, dumping powder, seating the bullet and taper crimping- all of which happens very smoothly and I believe contributes to the consistency I get.

5.4 gr HP-38 with a MBC 200 gr LSWC seated at 1.265 and a light crimp. Works great in both my .45's, a 1911 and a S&W 4566. It also works well in my brother's two 1911's. One of which is a Kimber Pro Carry 4''.  I wouldn't even bother with the 230 gr RN unless your guns are hitting low with the 200's.

200gr SWC from whoever has best price delivered that make you happy, and WST

I have not been fan of RN in 45acp used in 1911, as sometimes the ogive of the bullet has tendency to touch the ear of slide lock and bring it up and halt the slide' movement forward.

+1

I use MBC 200 swc and 4.9 grains WST, gets around 850-860 fps.  I could slow it down if I wanted, but the next size smaller on the rotor of the AutoDisc didn't have the right feel.  I suppose I could have bored out the rotor or used a lighter slide spring, but I didn't.  I have seen target loads using WST and 200 swc down to 750 fps and below.

It burns really clean, and I like that is a light color that makes it easy to see in the cases while you are loading.
