I had a brain fart moment and accidentally re-sized some 45acp brass with a 308 win die. My books say that the measurement for 45acp should be .476" and .470" for 308 win.  It's only about 10pcs. Can I load them light and fire form them back to the right size or should I just toss them?

I would toss them.

What are you saving by not just dumping them?

I'd chuck em into the scrap bucket

That was my plan. I figured it was worth asking since it was close. I can't believe I grabbed the wrong die. I thought it felt weird running them through and started double checking things.

This is what I would do,

Run a couple through the belling die, if everything looks ok, drop a powder charge and try to seat a bullet.

Bullet seating is where I would guess a problem would arise.

If bullet seats ok, I would expect a substantial bulge here.

Then try round in case gauge or barrel. That will tell the tale.

Post a pic if you try this.

I wouldn't get too excited over the issue... I came a cross a bunch of 38 Super Comp that after sizing, the bullet was still a poor fit (loose)...

Took them bad boyz and shoved the mouths of them Super Comps into a std 9mm die to size the tops of the cases down to hold a bullet firmly.. work like a charm

Size in a .45 ACP die with an expander ball, then press on.

@dryflash3...Ok I ran the case all the way into the expansion die and then re-sized with the 45acp die. Loaded a bullet and left coa as long as I could with it still chambering and fitting in the mag(.069 over data). Bulge is there but not too bad.  Smalles point on a Winchester WB is .469". Smallest point in my load is .466".  Chambers fine. Pics below.
