I have a 550B that I have been using for a number of years, but my friends kept saying how great the 650 was, and before you knew it, there was an Brian Enos Email confirming an order for a 650XL and a aluminum roller handle...set up for 45acp

I am making my own case feeder (just finishing it up now) and am going to try it without the strong mount (because of the height of the case feed system and my low ceiling)

If it doesn't work out, I will order the strong mount and lower my bench a bit

Any other 650 owners, with any tidbits of advice for my first time with this press?

I wish I could chime in but mine won't be here until Wednesday.

I did order the bearing for the shell plate so if you have a problem with the powder spilling out while indexing look up the bearing mod on Brian's forum, best advise I can give at the moment.

Also can you post some pics of your case feeder as I'm getting ready to build mine.

This thread is the best info I have seen for the 650 so far.

Your going to love the 650 only thing i did was the roller handle and the bearing mod here is a good thread on it. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86570 It's an awesome machine cranks out some ammo in a hurry.Keeping it feed is a chore

take your time and read the manual.  I spent 2-3 days fiddling with it before I loaded up live ammo.  Key skills to learn

are the case feed system, setting up a tool head, doing a caliber change.

Learn to synch up your cases with the primers.  Starting from scratch you'll need to advance the primer feed system 6 times to synch it up with the first case so they meet at the first time at station 2

Take your time and read the instructions during set up. It will make your life easier down the road during cleaning and maintenance.

I just downloaded the manual for some reading material while I wait on the delivery.

Set it up with the manual, take your time, be patient, don't force anything and get ready to deplete your reloading supplies!

Make sure the platform is tight and secure to the ram.  I traced that back as the source for a number of progressive problems: brass not lining up in the decapping die,the case feeder not advancing the case correctly to the decapping station, and spilling powder.

Easy to get excited and break something.  Take your time setting it up and follow the directions.
