What is everyone's opinions on powders to use with this load? I have H335, 8208 XBR, Varget, TAC.....

Using a 16" 1/9 twist DPMS 5.56/223

The 60 grain VMAX flies very nicely for me using Varget.

I like em in mine. I ran a batch with 24.6 grains of H335 and was averaging 2,810 fps with pretty damn good accuracy.

Also, this is with a 16" 1/9 twist as well.

My coyote load is 24.0 grs of TAC with the 60 gr. V-max, very accurate in our rifles....

For some reason out of 6 different .223s none of my barrels like the 60 grain.I have tried a few powders and load ranges with no luck.Well at least they like the 55 and 50 and some even the 40 grain ones.

Is Hodgdons load data pretty close? I know Hornady is real conservative but not sure about Hodgdon or eveb Lyman for that matter......

Thanks

Depends on your rifle and reloading methods.

Begin loading at the start load and work up watching for pressure signs.

That's the safe way.

tried TAC. Not sure about the results I got. But will look at it more tom to decide. Think if I play with seating depth then might have something at 24.4-24.7 possibly

20" Oly PCR-4  1:9 twist  loves 60 VMax and 25 gr. Varget.  Amazingly "same hole" accurate

tried increasing to 25.3 for a little extra speed and accuracy went to hell .....8 ring accuracy fail.

My 20" 1:9 DPMS shows same results. 25.0 is 1/2 MOA, more than 25.0 is dung.
