Saw a thread somewhere awhile back where somebody had a few boxes of blazer and some of the bullets got seated or pushed pretty deep. I don't know how you couldn't notice something like that while loading mags, but don't assume anything. Or some fool did try to reload aluminum cases? who knows? |

I'm not familiar with the Keltec, but is looks like wrong cal ammo, like a 9mm fired in a 40 'Borg Yeah, somethings not right there. That is massive case failure. Firing a 9mm in a .40 chamber isn't that dramatic to the shooter though. Firing pin strike really off centered? |

I may be wrong, but I think CCI loads the aluminum Blazers with berdan primers to discourage people from reloading the empty casings. It could also be that, it fired out of battery. Hope he's okay. GlockMonk Been a metric ton of boxer primer Blazer 9mm aluminum going around, same for 45acp, have not paid any attention to the 40.. I have handloaded the 9mm as an experiment.. 147gr lead, fired in my G-17, then loaded again and run through my M11-9 SMG w/ stainless barrel with SAMMI chamber. Cases split 50% on first handload firing, then rest start to split on firing of 2nd handload.. I would only use them for last ditch ammo.. I do have a pile of them... the actual berdan Blazers were ending up inside aluminum cans, then mashed flat to not rattle when recycled. |

But maybe aluminum acts differently than brass? I think ALUMINUM CASE 9mm in a 40 gun might do that. Further evidence: look at the primer: nice and round. No sign of pressure on the primer at all. So: HOW could there have been enough pressure to rupture the case like that? Answer: there was NOTHING supporting the case wall as would be the case of a 9mm round in a .40 cal chamber. |

FYI Keltec doesnt make it but there is an aftermarket .40 barrel for the pf11 and pf9's. I was wrong it was just the p11 that had a .40 barrel. a guy who gets a custom barrel made isn;t likely the same one who would shoot 9mm out of a .40. On purpose... They call them accidents because we didn't intend for them to happen... |
