This is probably a oddball question.

I own two single stage presses and a progressive.  I do a lot of reloading, especially for rifle.

As of late I have been thinking of really tweaking my Palma loads.  I had an idea that I would use the lee loader in .308.

I have never used the Lee loader and am interested in people's experience with it good and bad.  Has anyone used this for precision loading? It's small size and simplicity interest me.

Is this discussion about hand loader kit, not a press ?

If so, no I haven't used one yet. Like you, I like the simplicity. It's old school and embellishes my passion for truly hand crafted cartridges. Several posters in the past have used with satisfaction and success.

For last few months all my hi- speed presses have been boxed. On bench is single stage threaded with competion rifle dies.

I would love to replace it with an arbor press and L.E. Wilson dies. Started once to buy an arbor press and load rifle but allowed myself to be talked out of it. That won't happen again.

Follow your passion. For no more than Lee Loader costs if it don't work you ain't out much.

Yeah I am talking about the non press.

I ordered one so we will see how it goes.  Should be here in a couple days.

I am hoping that I can tweak loads at the bench, 10 at a time.

For bench work at range I keep a Lee hand press in dedicated hand load pack with chronograph, dies, powder, primers, brass, hand primer, hand trimmer, powder pan/funnel, pocket cleaner, digital scale, calipers and load block.

You may want to equip similar pack with your handloader

What you want is one of the old Lee "Target," loaders!

Look for them on Ebay! Be prepared to pay as they are hard to get.

I love my old Lee Loaders!

This is my .243 target loader bought in the 1970's.

I loaded Win 760 in Winchester cases topped with Sierra Match bullets (100 gr) and shot one 1/2" hole at 100 yds. the first 20 loaded (the only 20 loaded).  I was a kid, and wasn't into hard work in those days, so I bought an RCBS RockChucker the next day and never loaded with it again.  No, I never got that Remington 600 to shoot that perfect with the RCBS....nor did I care.  I was into deer, not bench rest and it was plenty accurate for that.  I believe it's claim to fame is the inside reamer (bottom left) & the straight line miked bullet seater. Check out the early Lee priming tool.
