Anyone have tips, hints, or suggestions for reloading ammo for an FN FAL?

Mainly looking for powder/bullet ideas. I've got good data for hunting loads, but I'm in need of a plinking load.

Something M80 ball spec would be a plus, but whatever you guys are using/doing is very welcome!

Thank you!

Mine really likes 155's over BL-C(2), at something around the max load listed in the free book.

147s or 150s with BLC2 is a good choice.  The M14 forum probably has a lot of good suggestions.

There's a Fal forum also.

Don't know if a reloading thread there will get moved to here or not.

There is indeed. Aside from our FAL section I'm a FAL files member as well. I really like the reloading section on AR15.com though, its very active and full of more knowledge than I can ever hope to remember.

I feed my battle rifles L.C. brass loaded with 42 grains of A2520 behind 147gr FMJ bullets. This basically duplicates the military load.  I've been real happy with the RCBS X die.  Haven't had to trim those cases again, so far.

I've got a Belgian 50.00 that I reload for.

I'm not going to say what works best for your weapon, but try the 147s up to the 168s.

My weapon is pretty accurate at 100 yds and I shoot a lot of nice bolt guns.

Has anyone tried RL15? Its something I keep a bunch of around, and always had good results out of it.
