So I got into it for the savings. Then it was because it became a nice hobby.
Someone said once I'm not sure if I shoot to reload, or reload to shoot, but it
is becoming a mantra for me lately.

200 rounds of .30-06 to take to the range tomorrow for a whopping $34 bucks minus brass,
which was almost free. Just some brass processing for a buddy.

147gr. pulls on top of 46.5grs. W748 seated to cannelure for Garand using CCI #34.
Working up a load from as low as 44grs which cycled fine.

I'm another one that would prefer to sit at the bench and reload rather than do some other things.  I truly do enjoy reloading, cleaning my guns when I get back from the range and taking them apart for a good reason and working on them when needed.  I just enjoy everything about guns and reloading has been part of that for many years.

Good to hear there isn't something wrong with me.  Or there are others like me so I'm not the only one

I found a couple of 100 count bags of 147 gr 30 cal at the last funshow for $10 each. I know, I should have bought the other 3 bags.

Reloading is definitely my favorite hobby, rates up there with shooting and going to the funshow. Or hanging out here.

There were 3 other bags at $.10 cents a piece and you didn't buy?
Good score no matter.

I have found it to be very therapeutic.  I held off for a few years, but saved the brass I shot.

I am going to pick up some M80 147gr FMJBT pulls at Hi-Tech for a friend.  I might have to pick some up for me after seeing that nice Garand food.  $12/100, $58/500, $110/1000, $320/3000.  I have a bunch of Hornady 150gr soft points from buying my press kit and dies so I might use those first.

Good score on the bullets, however, I can't figure how you got to only 17¢ per round?  Your bullets are 10¢ and even if you use Pat's surplus WC 846 powder at $85/keg, you're at 6.8¢ before you add shipping and hazmat and you haven't even thought about primers.

I definitely think I shoot so I can reload.  It's gotten to where I plan my trips to the range when I think I can scrounge the most brass.  I'm planning a trip on Monday and have been working on brass prep for 30-06 and 300 WM.

Steve, bullets are the same price, but my powder is cheaper and local.

It all starts to save money, so you can shoot more. If the bite just stopped there....... Throw gunsmithing in with the mix.

My hobby expense per month exceeded my house payment a long time ago. A need to own every press made makes no sense either.

I don't care what my per cartridge expense is. Accuracy at any cost has become my obsession.

I don't really have a use for them, got them because of the price and I plan on having a 300 blk upper in the future.

Was really looking for .311 bullets.

I love it, too...

Now that I have a progressive, instead of saying "I wish I had more time to reload", I say "I wish I had enough money to reload."  A hundred bucks in powder, primers, and bullets used to keep me busy for a good, long while, now it's barely an hour.  Cocaine would be cheaper.

I find that I'm spending as much time at the range just picking up brass instead of shooting. It seems to take longer and longer for my barrel to cool down properly.

I too recently made some .30-06, though not for a Garand: Nosler brass, CCI LR primer, 55.0 grains IMR 4350, 168 gr SMK. I should post some pictures.

I also love reloading. It's a way to spend time in the basement while still feeling like I am getting something done
