Hey guys,
I have been working on a 250gr XTP load for my .45 Colt and have been getting decent results, albeit semi-good expansion. I just picked up several boxes of .45acp HST for my 1911 and got to thinking about pulling some of the HST and loading them up for my Colt. I know they are slightly smaller, at .452, compared to the .454 of the Colt, other than this can anyone think of any other negative effects? Anyone tried this before with HST? I love the HST, use them in all my carry guns, and would like to see how they do in .45 Colt.

Thanks

The XTP is a hunting bullet and is designed to only moderately expand.

If you want a self-defense bullet get the 250 grain Gold Dot, assuming you can find any.  How old is this Colt?  A .45 Colt should be .451/.452 unless it predates WWI.
