I want to get a Dillon 550B but I am confused.
Website (Link)states the following: Station 1) resize/deprime/prime Station 2) powder drop/flare Station 3) seat Station 4) crimp They sell a powered trimmer that can be put on the machine. How can you incorporate the trimming into the mix, if at all? I am trying to make all this a one stop shop so to speak. Am I just dreaming here? Obviously the goal would be to resize/deprime/prime, then trim and continue with the sequence. ETA: So I am straight... step one: setup for resize/deprime and trim if using the trimmer that fits into the press. Step two: continue with all other step prime, powder, seat, crimp. |

Buy 2 tool heads.
Put the deprimer/sizer in the first station and the trimmer in the second (or third wherever there is room) and run all your brass. Then change tool heads, prime and load the brass. You need to clean the lube off the brass between steps anyway. |

It's not going to be a one step process for something like .223 .
I have a Lee classic cast press that I use for resizing, and I hand prime with an RCBS priming tool although the on-press primer works just fine. I simply don't feel like using it. When it's time to load rounds, I just go powder charge > seat > crimp. |

Quoted:
After tumbling, I size on a Rockchucker, tumble again in plain corn cob to remove the lube. Then do case prep. Trim and debur, remove primer crimp if needed, and uniform primer pockets. Then on to 550, Lee Universal decapper on station 1 to ensure flashole is clear, and load. I do it in a similar manner except I have a Lee collet neck sizer in station 1. Clears the flash hole and uniforms the neck tension. |
